Here it is Pi Day...

Such a great day celebrating Pi, and did I make a pie? No. We talked about it, but there never was an opportunity. We are enjoying watching our friend's little horse and kitty, and while we could get the work done in an hour and a half with the drive, it takes us much longer usually. It has been wonderful! It's so fun to be out on the land with an equine...brushing, picking hooves, feeding, doing the stall. My kids and I love it and even our Mr. enjoyed going with us one night.

This was supposed to be a slow week with just school and me getting a hair cut, but then my hair turned into a longer event, my son needed a cut, we ran out of dog food and we needed to hit the feed store unexpectedly. Isn't that just how things seem to go? My whole year has been like this, especially this semester. Do you ever feel like your goal is to eliminate 'things to do', yet they just continue to grow? I think the person doing the scheduling has a split personality or something! ☺

Seriously, life can be so busy when you home school and have your kids involved in outside activities...add friends, pets, family, church and there is not much time left over.

I hope in your busy-ness you're finding peace in Christ and casting your cares upon Him. He loves you.

Cod Liver Oil for Vit D

I did go forth and get some lemonade flavored Cod Liver Oil. It was going to be a wonderful way to streamline some of our daily vitamins, but this is going to have to be something for just my husband. The flavor is great, but the fact it is oil on a spoon is making me gag :(. I can handle a lot of gross stuff, but this is a problem!!

Back to figuring out a new way to get the D3 I'm lacking...

Where Do You Go for Guidance?

I've been thinking how there is no shortage of advice with which to guide our footsteps and opinions. Day in and day out, the Internet is full of advice and opinions. There are books to tell us how to dress and parent, and there are magazines that seek to guide how we decorate our houses. Advertising, in essence, is an attempt to shape our lifestyles. Beauty, clothing, the food we shop for...it is never ending!!!!

More and more I just don't care what is being advised. It is wearisome to have such a bombardment of opinions, and the voice I keep hearing is telling me, "Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Even if we aren't to the point of weariness with all the 'how to's', God is so clear. If we will trouble ourselves with making Him our priority, we can save a lot of time and money and confusion.

Writing the Sponsors Who Left Rush Limbaugh

I understand Rush said some things about that girl who spoke out about birth control that some folks think are highly offensive, but when you know the context, it isn't as bad. While I understand companies pulling their sponsorship, I think Rush's overall message is too important to let his off-color comments be a game changer, so I've written to Carbonite to express my thoughts. If there is a company which has pulled it's sponsorship and you bought into it because of Rush advertising for them, how about write them a note to tell them? For me, when it's time to renew with Carbonite, I'll see if they have started to support Rush again and if not, will look for another online back up option.
